The large, rounded barbecues were usually made out of old wooden barrels, which gave the guests plenty to marvel at. Up to then, the special cooking process was previously unknown here in Germany. The German barbecue fans were astounded to see that these barbecues were equipped with a special inner bowl and most also had a steam outlet. The flavour quickly become popular and was the source of increasing interest. Soon there were a large number of German-American Friendship Associations and an exchange of interests was started. At these meetings, barbecues were just one of many topics. After just a few years, this special cooking method had been adopted by local barbecue lovers and a new market developed. This included for example Joe’s Barbecue Smoker, a wide range of delicious spice mixes and of course, the very popular barbecue sauces. There are plenty of opinions about which barbecue sauce is the best   – but we don’t want to define anything and simply offer you a wide palette of different flavours.

Our barbecue sauces are produced in small batches using the finest ingredients. The sensational flavour simply can’t be compared with mass-produced goods from the supermarket. These gourmet products should definitely be eaten on their own as part of the barbecue feast. Of course, they can also be used to make a marinade. However, in this case you should make sure to barbecue at a low temperature or else the sugar contained in the sauces could burn.

Very mild barbecue sauces

Our mild barbecue sauces range between spice levels 1 and 2 and the spicy heat should not stand in the way of enjoyment, even for beginners. These include, for example, the very popular Chef Dan’s Mild Barbecue Sauce, the delicious Squealers BBQ Sauce, the spicy Zarda KC Classic, the Coffee Barbecue Sauce with special nuances of flavour and the range of Pepper King Mild Barbecue Sauces, which are available in a range of fruity and exotic flavours.

Medium-hot barbecue sauces

The medium-hot barbecue sauces cover the 3-5 range of spice levels and include Pepper King Mild Caramel, Route 66 Steak Sauce and Zarda Sweet & Spicy. Both Zarda Bold & Spicy and Chef Dan’s Wild & Spicy sauces are level 4 spiciness. Spice level 5 includes the CaJohns Jolokia, Burning Pig sauce and the extremely popular Crazy Cow BBQ Sauce

Sauces from the devil’s kitchen

In addition to our mild and medium products, it goes without saying that you will also find extremely hot sauces in this category, rated between 6 and 9 on the spice scale. Amongst others, this includes Habanero from Hell, the Pepper King Butch Cassidy Hot BBQ Sauce, the Pepper King Route 66 Hot Steak Sauce as well as the truly hot as hell CaJohns Trinidad Scorpion BBQ Sauce.
