Whole dried De Arbol Chillis, stemless 1kg
The Chile de Arbol originates from Mexico and its name means "from the tree" in spanish, as the plants have a tree-like growth with a small, woody trunk.
The peppers reach 5 to 7 cm in length and are similar to the Cayenne in terms of appearance and colour, but less spicy. Unlike many chillies, De Arbol chillies remain bright red even after drying, which makes them ideal for craft work such as chili wreaths or ristras.
Adding some whole dried pods to a dish will increase its heat level and adds a slight smoky flavour. They are suitable for chili con carne, hearty stews and soups as well as curries. Traditionally, the whole Chili de Arbol is often used to flavour oils and vinegars.
In the image you see 50 g dried chillies.
