Cerveny Fik Tomato Seeds
Information: A very rare variety here in Germany, the "Cerveny Fik" tomato originally comes from the Czech Republic, where the name means "red fig". Its unmistakable fruits a pear-shaped, very small and a vibrant red colour. They are great for making salads, eating raw or as decoration.
As the plants can grow up to 2.5 metres tall, just like almost all types of tomato plant, climbing supports should be provided. This breed ripens from mid-July and produces a decent-sized yield.
Care: You can grow cerveny fik tomatoes at home, in a greenhouse or outside. Optimum germinating temperature is between 20°C and 25°C, germination takes place after 5-15 days. You can accelerate germination by priming them overnight in a damp cloth. The young plant should not be planted outside until after the last frost. Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised permeable soil, which is kept damp (but not wet!). They should be placed in a sunny, sheltered place with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day, if not more.
