Interesting facts about Chia seeds:
Chia is a rich source of OMEGA-3 and OMEGA-6 fatty acids, essential amino acids, vitamins, minerals, fibre and antioxidants.
The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) considers chia seeds to be a healthy dietary food. In a diet characterised by denatured foods, primal foods like chia help restore balance in the body and provide the body with the substances it needs.
For children and adults, the consumption of essential fatty acids is indispensable. In babies, omega-3 fatty acids promote brain development and should be consumed in sufficient quantities by the mother during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The oil contained in the Chia seed provides OMEGA-3 and 6 fatty acids in an optimal ratio of 3:1.
Due to its properties, the consumption of Chia increases the ability to concentrate and ensures mental balance, especially in children and adolescents.
Another outstanding property of chia is its ability to absorb 7-12 times its own weight in water. The formation of a polysaccharide gel from fibre prevents the premature breakdown of carbohydrates by the enzymes in the stomach and thus regulates the blood sugar level. The body is supplied with energy for a longer period of time.
When chia seeds are soaked in water, the grains form a polysaccharide layer that aids digestion in a similar way to flaxseed. Customers tell us that a glass of orange juice (or even apple juice) mixed with a teaspoon of previously soaked seeds as breakfast keeps you full until lunchtime.
- Athletes and vegans benefit from the high content of high-quality proteins with the vital amino acids.
- Chia is gluten- and cholesterol-free and easy to digest.
- Chia has a good and natural taste
