First in Field Tomato Seeds
Info: The First in Field tomato is a heirloom from the UK and, as the name implies, a very early variety (fruit ripening just 40 days!). It is also an excellent choice for outdoor growing, since the plants are relatively cold-resistant. The compact and bushy plants are vigorous and productive, bearing medium-sized red and juicy tomatoes with an excellent taste. The tomatoes are suitable for fresh use in salads as well as for cooking.
Care: You can grow the First in Field tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C, and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
