Ukrainian Purple Tomato Seeds
Info: The Ukrainian Purple tomato is an Ukrainian egg-shaped heirloom with smooth and perfect fruits. The plants are very productive, relatively cold-tolerant and can reach heights up to 2 meters. The wine-red to purple medium-sized fruits have a tangy taste that tops the charts. Their colour make it ideal in salads, but they are also best for sauces and preserving.
Care: You can grow the Ukrainian Purple tomatoes inside the house, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimal germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C, and germination occurs after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up the germination process if you leave the seeds to soak overnight in a damp cloth. You should wait until after the last frost to plant your chosen plants.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil which is kept moist (but not wet!). They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more.
