Sweetcorn Lila Lofogu Kukorica Seeds
Info: Sweetcorn `Lila Lofogu Kukorica` is a Hungarian variety which, when ripe and dried, has a strong purple colour. It forms long and large cobs. The grains are eaten when they are still soft, then they are still light and only have only a purple coating. They are well suited as an ingredient in soups and salads. The ripe, dried grains can be processed into an unusual purple flour.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow from May on outdoors. Use a dibber to make 2.5cm holes and sow two or three seeds every 30cm with 45 cm between rows. Sweetcorn grows best if planted in large blocks. It likes free-draining, moisture retentive and nutrient-rich soil. The plants are shallow rooted: protection from winds and water loss in the soil is very important.
