Sweetcorn Earth Tones Seeds
Info: The sweet corn `Earth Tones` is a beautiful variety with large, colourful cobs in warm earth tones. Botanically, it belongs to the group of the so-called "tooth corn" (Zea mays convar. dentiformis), since the individual grains have a small dent on the upper side, i.e. they are similar in shape to a tooth. The plants can grow up to 250 cm tall and are an eye-catcher in the garden. The cobs are not only good for decoration, but can also be processed into delicious and colourful popcorn.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow from May on outdoors. Use a dibber to make 2.5cm holes and sow two or three seeds every 30cm with 45 cm between rows. Sweetcorn grows best if planted in large blocks. It likes free-draining, moisture retentive and nutrient-rich soil. The plants are shallow rooted: protection from winds and water loss in the soil is very important.
