Fruity and aromatic paste made from fresh Piments d`Espelette.

The exceptional fruity flavour of these special French chillies enhances starters and main courses, salad dressings and tomato sauces. The mild heat (4) emphasises the flavour without overpowering it.

The Piment d`Espelette chilli is a traditional and extremely aromatic variety from the Espelette region 50 km east of Biarritz at the foot of the Pyrenees in the French Basque Country. If it is grown in the Espelette region, it can be labelled with the AOC (Appellation d`Origine Contrôlée; controlled designation of origin) seal of quality.

Professional and amateur chefs and gourmets all over the world appreciate the typical flavour of piment d`Espelette, which is mainly dried and processed into the famous aromatic powder in the region where it is grown. In France, piment d`Espelette is also used to flavour jams and mustard.
