Recipe for Canadian Style Ribs - pork ribs in a delicious sauce

This recipe comes from Thomas von Ledebur and we have provided the images and text.

Ingredients (for 4 people):

4 pounds of pork ribs
1-2 oranges (if you like it sour then add a lemon as well)
1 large onion
1 1/2 cups of water
1 cup of Ketchup
1/3 Cup Worcester Sauce (or 1/4 Worcester und 1/4 Soy sauce)
1 tsp chili powder (our suggestions: Cayenne powder, Tabasco powder, Habanero powder)
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Pepper
1 splash of spicy Chili sauce

If you don`t have any cups, then it is still easy to make. Use the whole bottle of ketchup (500 ml) and, after emptying, fill it with water, so you then have 500 ml water. Use about half of a whole 140 ml Worcester sauce bottle.

Put the ribs with the meaty layer down into a shallow roasting pan, season with salt and roast in a preheated oven at 230° degrees for 30 minutes.
Then pour off the fat and turn the ribs. Reduce the temperature to 180° degrees and roast for a further 30 minutes.
Mix water, ketchup, Worcester sauce, chili powder and chili sauce, and bring to the boil. We usually let the sauce simmer throughout the whole preparation time, as it then reduces slightly, becomes thicker and the flavour becomes more intense.

Cover the ribs with the thinly cut orange and onion slices, and pour the pre-cooked sauce over the top. Roast for a further hour, and every approx. 15 minutes pour more sauce over the ribs. If the sauce becomes too thick, use water to make it thinner.
