Do chillies grow in Mid Europe?

Question: Can you successfully grow and cultivate chillies in Mid Europe ?

Answer: The answer is a clear YES. Most chillies originally come from very warm climate zones, but chili cultivation is possible in Germany and other Mid European countries if you pay attention to a few tips. From January, the chili seeds are brought to a warm place to germinate, the best place is in a mini greenhouse on the windowsill over a heater. From April/May the chili plants can be put in the garden or in pots on the balcony or terrace. Chili plants can be put outside approximately 3-4 weeks before tomato plants, as they are less sensitive. The temperature should always be above 10-15 °C, no more frost should occur.
