Info: Cabbage `Glory of Enkhuizen` was originally bred in 1899 in the Netherlands, and is a traditional autumn maturity variety. It is an excellent, easy to grow, early variety that is tender and crisp. It produces medium-large light green heads that can reach a weight of 3.5 kilos. It is a good keeper and are often used in slaws, sauerkraut, salads, soups and stir fries.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow successionally from late Feb to early May. Sowing depth: 12mm and space 15 to 20cm between rows. Cabbage seedlings are ready for transplanting when they are between 6 and 8cm high, around 30 to 45cm apart. Cabbage grows best in partial-shade, in firm, fertile, free-draining soil which should be slightly calcareous. Water regularly, especially in dry periods.
