Info: Rosemary is one of the most important herbs in the Mediterranean cuisine. It is an integral part of the well-known spice mixtures "Italian herbs" and "herbs of Provence". The most common use of rosemary is to meat, poultry, lamb or potatoes. Also as medicinal and aromatic plant the versatile herb finds use. As an effective remedy for indigestion, a rosemary tea is often used. In addition, a decoction of rosemary relief from gout and rheumatism.
Sowing & cultivation: The sowing can take place from May directly into the field. The seeds should be sown with a depth of 1-1.5cm. Since rosemary is one of the light germs, the seeds should be little covered with soil. For optimal and healthy growth, the planting distance should be 30-40cm. A humus rich, nutrient-rich, well-drained soil is ideal. For protection against cold nights a garden fleece can be used.
