Habanero Chili Blood Sausage

Our Habanero blood sausage is local speciality from Germany’s Palatinate region, and combined with the hotness of habanero chillies it is a true delicacy. You simply have to try it!

The sausage has a fine texture and a hearty flavour of sautéed, smoked bacon, seasoned with onions, marjoram and Habanero chillies. It is made from high-quality, regional ingredients, like bacon, rind, fresh pork blood and finely ground spices. On the tongue it is tender, flavourful and spicy hot.

Blood sausage is no longer only traditional home cooking, but has even conquered the gourmet kitchens. Even top chefs are creating new dishes with black pudding. Traditionally, it goes particularly well with mash potatoes and apples or sauerkraut.

Our Habanero blood sausage is made exclusively for Chili Food by a Palatine specialties butcher.
It is also known as black pudding in England or “red sausage” in other areas of Germany. Blood sausage is one of the oldest known varieties of sausage in Germany.

How to use

Blood sausage tastes great on bread, but can also be used in an endless variety of other ways. Spicy blood sausage snacks: Fry some finely chopped onions in a little butter until golden yellow. Add  a small grated apple and a tin of blood sausage. Allow the sausage to melt completely. Leave the  mixture to cool down completely and spread on small, round slices of dark pumpernickel bread. Once cooled to below 10°C, the mixture will solidify once more. Tastes delicious with blackcurrant or redcurrant jelly. Wonderful light bites for any party!

Gut aber zu scharf

Schmeckt gut, aber die knackige Schärfe passt leider nicht dazu (anders als z.B. bei der Bierwurst).

super Dosenwurst

Ich bin ein Fan von Blutwurst, wenn ich die Dose geöffnet habe ist sie meißtens auch gleich leer. Als Wurstbrot, zu Bratkartoffeln, im Rührei, in einem Rezept zusammen mit Quitten, einfach unzählige Möglichkeiten. Wäre sie in einem Naturdarm, würde ich abhängig wie von einer Droge werden.
