Habanero Martinique Chili Seeds
Information: As the name suggests, this habanero comes from the Antillean island of Martinique and therefore needs a suitable summer climate to grow well. As is well-known and popular in the Caribbean, the Martinique has a biting heat, a smoky flavour and a wonderful fruitiness that will delight any hot pepper lover. As the chillies grow up to 1.20 m tall, a trellis is recommended.
In the right location (preferably in a greenhouse), the chilli produces a large number of large, shiny fruits that keep for a long time. They are ideal for processing into delicious exotic sauces with a good level of heat, which are incredibly popular with fish and seafood.
Care: Germination temperature is between 28°C and 31°C (germination period: 7 - 21 days); it is therefore recommended to use a greenhouse and a heating mat. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised permeable soil and should not be left in standing water. They should be placed in a sunny, sheltered place with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day, if not more. The earliest time to place the plants outside is 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost. If grown in plant pots, you can also take care of them through the winter. It might be necessary to cut them back slightly and place them in a light place where it is at least 15°C.
