Organic Czech Black Chili Samen

Info: The Czech Black Chili comes from the Czech Republic and ripens from green to black to dark red. The fruits are similar in shape to a jalapeno chili; they are pendulous, thick-fleshed and grow to a length of approx. 6 - 8 cm. The chilies are aromatic and sweet with only mild heat and ripen relatively early. If they are very strongly exposed to the sun, they can retain their black color. The Czech Black Chili plants grow bushy and reach a height of approx. 75 cm. They are very productive and the chilies are usually ideal for drying and making (black) chili powder after harvesting. Otherwise, we recommend pickling the fruits or stuffing them with sheep`s or goat`s cheese, for example, and grilling or gratinating them.

Care: The germination temperature is between 20 and 28°C (8 - 20 days germination time), so we recommend using a greenhouse and a heating mat. The plants need fresh, well-fertilized, well-drained soil and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be placed in a full sun, sheltered spot with at least 6 hours of sunlight, preferably more. Place the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
