Habanero Chelsea Chili Seeds

Information: The original habaneros are among the hottest chillies in the world. Here the Chelsea variety is almost harmless again, because with a pungency of 6 to 7 out of 10, it is not one of those that stand on the pungency podium. However, like most habaneros, it also has the typical smoky, fruity and hot flavour that is so popular with these chillies.

The Chelsea grows to a height of around 100 - 120 cm and definitely needs a support, otherwise it is possible that branches that are too heavy will simply break off. The plants produce many small lampion-shaped chillies that ripen from green to yellow-green and have a delicious flavour.

Care: Germination temperature is between 22°C and 28°C (germination period: 12 - 21 days); it is therefore recommended to use a greenhouse and a heating mat. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised permeable soil and should not be left in standing water. They should be placed in a sunny, sheltered place with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day, if not more. The earliest time to place the plants outside is 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost. If grown in plant pots, you can also take care of them through the winter. It might be necessary to cut them back slightly and place them in a light place where it is at least 15°C.
