Sesame leaf Shiso Red Seeds
Info: Shiso, also known as perilla, sesame leaf or black nettle, is a very popular spice and herb from Asian cuisine. In its taste the exotic reminds of a mixture of mint and anise. It is often used for seasoning meat and fish dishes or in the Japanese national dish "Umeboshi" (pickled plums). Also in salad or soups a real treat. As a medicinal herb it works against some allergies and as an anti-inflammatory.Sowing & cultivation: Shiso is a fairly undemanding plant that can be planted in sunny or partially shaded locations. The soil should be well drained, humic, nutritious and always slightly moist. Sandy soils should be fed with some compost. Avoid waterlogging if possible. Sowing depth should be 0.5 cm and the planting distance 25cm. About 3 months after the germination phase can be fertilized regularly.
