Mexican Chia Seeds
Info: The Mexican Chia is related to sage but grows up to 2 meters high. It comes from South America and already the Incas appreciated the energy-rich seeds as a food for strength. From July onwards, the plants bloom with countless small violet flowers, which are also popular with bees. From September, the seed capsules with the valuable Chia seeds are formed.
Sowing & cultivation: Sowing starts in February in pre-culture or in May outdoors. The seeds only have to be spread on the soil, because Chia is a light germinator. When planting out, make sure that there is sufficient space, as Chia plants can grow up to 2 metres tall. Chia needs a sunny, protected place. It does not make great demands on the soil and also thrives on nutrient-poor soil. Water regularly, but avoid waterlogging.
