Pumpkin Tom Fox Seeds
Info: `Tom Fox` pumpkin was bred in New Hampshire and is a classic Halloween type for decoration. The well-ribbed, medium large pumpkins have a deep orange colour and fantastic handles: fat, long, dark green, and strong. The pumkins weigh 5 to 8 kg, are very thick walled and grow on long vines. Average yield is 2 to 3 fruits per plant.
Sowing & cultivation: Pumpkin plants need a lot of space as creeping plants and a good nutrient supply. The soil should therefore be profound and nutritious. From mid-May can be sown directly into the open field. Depending on the variety a plant needs up to 2m² of space. Abundant irrigation is very important, especially in the beginning. A typical pumpkin problem are snails. Try as protection a thick ring of sawdust around the young plant. It should be fertilized with a few horns, four weeks later with full fertilizer. The harvest begins in September and lasts until the frost.
Distances: 1,5-2m row distance, in the row approx. 1m.
