Uba Tuba Gambuci Chili Seeds

Info: The Uba Tuba Gambuco Chili comes from the Capsicum baccatum variety and originates from Brazil. Typical for this type are the large branched plants (up to 2 metres) which can develop a protruding crown. The fruits have a curious shape, which is slightly reminiscent of the Bishops Crown or a hanging lamp, and can all look very different from one another. They are juicy and thick-fleshed, have a fruity flavour, and are suitable for fresh consumption as well as for cooking, sauces and drying.

Care: The germination temperature is between 21 und 28°C (8 - 20 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.

Schöne Chilis, aber keine Schärfe

Die Chilis sind sehr, sehr schön und die Planzen sind auch gut gewachsen. An jeder Pflanze hatte ich um die 25 Früchte (nicht übermäßig viel, aber es sind dafür auch große Früchte).
Das Problem ist nur, dass sie keinerlei Schärfe haben. Sehr fruchtig und lecker, aber Schärfegrad eher 0 als die angegebene 7. Wir schneiden sie wie Paprika in Gerichte.

Resümee zum Saisonende

Zum Ernteabschluss gibt es nun eine kleine Zusammenfassung:

Die Pflanzen sind mit über 2 m riesig geworden.
Leider war meine Erde wohl etwas zu Nährstoffreich und das Gewächshaus zu warm, denn die Pflanzen sehen sehr in die Länge gezogen aus. Nächstes Jahr wird die hälfte draußen kultiviert, das scheint die Pflanzen kräftiger werden zu lassen.
Die kräftigste Pflanze hat etwa 20 Früchte entwickelt, die faustgroß, knallrot und wunderschön abgewachsen sind.
Schade, dass man hier keine Fotos hochladen kann, den diese Chilis sehen wirklich wie abstrakte Kunstwerke aus...

Schärfe: Ähhh... gar keine - vergebe mal Schärfegrad 1 fürs Fruchtfleisch und 2 für das helle Plazentagewebe.

Geschmack: Herrlich süß, fruchtig und mega knackig

Die Pflanze ist auf jeden Fall ein hinkucker und jeder will wissen, was das ist ;)

Nachtrag zur letzten Bewertung

Die Erwartungen wurden leider nicht erfüllt:(
Bis auf drei sind alle Pflanzen geschossen und sehen bei inzwischen knapp 2 m Höhe sehr schluchterig aus.
Leider tragen sie auch nur vereinzelt Früchte.

Die drei anderen Pflanzen, könnten auch kräftiger sein.
Sehen eher zerbrechlich aus, aber tragen dafür immerhin um die 20 Früchte.
Werde beim nächsten mal versuchen die Pflanzen außerhalb des Gewächshauses zu kultivieren. Denke sie werden dann kräftiger und buschiger.
