Guajillo Chili Seeds
Info: The Guajillo Chili plants are bushy and develop fleshy fruits which ripen to a brownish dark red and have a medium level of spiciness. A fantastic powder can be made from the fruits. It is best to smoke them first and then dry them. However, with their spicy flavour they are also suitable for many other hearty dishes. The Guajillo Chili is frequently used in Mexican cuisine. It is used for traditional salsas and sauces, but is also good dried, made into a powder and then used as a chicken rub or stirred into a paste.
Care: The germination temperature is between 20 und 28°C (7 - 21 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
You can find plenty of useful tips for successfully growing chili plants in our Chili Growing Guide and in the Chili Journal.
