Hot Paprika Powder
Hot paprika powder comes from medium-hot red chili peppers. As paprika is only a sub-group of the chili family, many different varieties may be used. The pointed Hungarian pepper is wonderful for creating a slightly spicy paprika powder as the plants produce a large number of heavy fruits. Traditionally, paprika powder is used a lot in both Hungarian and Spanish cuisine. Even today the largest paprika growing areas are located in Hungary and Spain. Our top tip: Paprika powder should always be stored in a dark place as direct sunlight can cause the colour to fade and affect the flavour.
