Ground Allspice

Allspice is also referred to as pimento, and possesses a real explosion of flavours. Its scent can be compared to a mix of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.

It can be used in a variety of ways. Combined with bay leaves and juniper berries it gives marinated dishes like Sauerbraten their typical flavour. In Indian and Arabic cuisine, Allspice is part of many spice mixtures and is used to season meat dishes.
It is also used in German Christmas baking and desserts to give them a piquant note.

EDORA allspice berries come from Jamaica, which is known for the best, most flavourful varieties.
