Green and Yellow Tabasco Chili Flakes
The Tabasco chili - known by the world famous Tabasco sauce from McIlhenny - can also be harvested while still green. Dried and coarsely ground into powder, it is a rarity in Europe.
Tabasco chillies have a balanced "chili flavor", straight and without sweetness or bitterness. The green Tabasco chili flakes add heat but not too much own flavour to the dishes, therefore they are an all-rounder in the kitchen. They are suitable for Tex-Mex dishes, stews, poultry and pork as well as for the Cajun cuisine from Louisiana.
But be careful, this South American tabasco is considerably hotter than the commonly-known variety from the USA. 100,000 Scoville heat units – extremely hot. Supplied in a refill bag.
