Whole Dried Trinidad Scorpion Moruga Chillies
For the chili-flash! Extremely hot. Only for Chili-Heads.
In 2012 the Trinidad Scorpion Moruga held the title of the world`s hottest chili. It is cultivated in Trinidad and Tobago, an island nation off the coast of Venezuela. The measurements of the Chile Pepper Institute of New Mexico State University gave average values of 1.207.764 Scoville Units with top values of up to 2 Mio. SHU, the first time that a chili plant had reached values of over the 2 million mark.
The Trinidad Scorpion Moruga chillies are extremely hot, but also have a very fruity taste with a flowery note. The heat begins slowly, but then becomes extremely fiery and remains for quite a long time.
Whole dried Trinidad Moruga Scorpion chillies are suitable for spicing up all dishes, in particular curries, stews, dishes with tomatoes or paprika sauce, and all exotic dishes. Also suitable for marinating white meat or fish.
Soak the whole dried chillies in hot water for 10 minuntes to rehydrate, then dice or puree and add to a recipe, or add directly to recipe that will cook at least 10 minutes.
Production Info
We have our Trinidad Scorpion Moruga chillies cultivated by a contract farmer, so we have influence on the whole production process, in particular the quality. The freshly harvested chillies are gently dried. In this way, the flavours are almost completely retained.
