Serrano Chillies whole dried
Serrano chillies develop a pleasant sweetness when ripe, together with their medium pungency. This makes whole dried Serrano Chillies ideal for spicing up salad sauces and salsas, but also for seasoning chilli con carne, stews and as a seasoning on the table.
Serrano chillies are, along with jalapeños, a classic of Mexican cuisine and, together with tomatoes, the basis for the famous Mexican Salsa Pico de Gallo. The name Serrano indicates that they originate from the Mexican highlands. In their country of origin, Mexico, the pods are harvested green, but the whole dried Chillies are made from fully ripe, flavorful red Serrano pods.
Soak in hot water for approx. 10 min. before processing or crumble directly dry into the food.
