Serrano Chillies

The serrano chilli peppers come from Mexico and are the classic of Mexican cuisine, along with jalapeños. Although the ripe red fruits have a much more aromatic and sweeter flavour, serranos are almost eaten green in Mexico. Together with the medium heat, they are ideal as an everyday chilli for all savoury dishes and of course for Mexican cuisine.
